Zimbabwean Afropop artist Kazz Khalif returns with “Mr Bean,” a bold Amapiano track that speaks directly to anyone who’s been overlooked, mocked, or counted out. Produced by Sammy Jay and written by Mufaxa alongside executive producer Karizma, the single blends emotional storytelling with heavy log drums, soulful piano chords, and layered vocals to deliver an energetic yet heartfelt sound.
Inspired by the iconic character’s awkward charm, “Mr Bean” flips ridicule into resilience, telling a story of personal transformation and rising above judgment. The track combines Amapiano rhythms with Afrobeat elements, appealing to fans of Burna Boy, Kabza De Small, Fireboy DML, and Tyla.
Kazz Khalif has built significant momentum in recent years: his Amapiano remake of Alick Macheso’s “Madhau” garnered 1.8 million views on TikTok; his single peaked at number 4 on Zimbabwe’s Star FM; he toured Australia with Nutty O as well as Canada and has also performed alongside the likes of Rozalla Miller, Ne-yo, Sean Kingston and many more; he collaborated with international producers such as Italy’s KitamboLab, known for working with Daddy Yankee, as well as Valee Music on the recent track “Ngiyeza”, produced by hit maker Allie Keys.
Reflecting on the new single, Kazz says, “I grew up being laughed at. This track flips the script. It’s for anyone who’s been dismissed and came back stronger.”
“Mr Bean” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
